About the game
Medal of Honor is a modern first-person shooteron the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC. It is the first game out of the series to recieve a 18 rating. The game takes place in current-day Afghanistan and it is based on real events and Tier 1 Operators. The game involves tactical stealth and shooting action and the player takes the role of several characters in different levels throughout the game.
The game's setting made a few debates, which is modern Afghanistan, aswell as the multiplayer feature to play as Taliban. As a result, the name was changed and called it Opposing Force.
Story
In Medal of Honor you play the role of several different US soldiers during multiple operations in current-day Afghanistan. Your main goal during most missions is to eliminate Taliban forces. The missions are inspired by real events and cover infiltrations and urban warfare, as well as missions where you take the role of a sniper or a helicopter pilot.
The different missions are usually connected. For example, in one mission your team gets ambushed and rescued by approaching helicopters. During the next mission, you then take the role of one of the helicopter pilots that rescued your team in the previous mission. The mission after that you take the role of a sniper who saved your helicopter from an approaching enemy and so on.
Gameplay
Medal of Honor is a modern first-person shooter. During most missions, you follow a supervisor or team and take out enemy forces. You are usually equipped with two different rifles, a hand gun, a knife and night vision. The environment is a closed one, meaning you have a specific path the game wants you to follow.
Due to the fact that you take control of several characters during multiple missions, the game provides different combat experiences in various environments.
Medal of Honor Series
The first Medal of Honor game was introduced in 1999 for the original PlayStation and was set during World War II. Over the years 14 Medal of Honor titles followed, including this year’s game. So far, every title except the 2010 version of Medal of Honor was set during World War II.

- The game will start with an intro sequence.
- Once you take control of your character, follow your teammate through the alley. Take cover behind the objects on your way.
- You will face some enemies now. They are located on the street in front of you, in a building to your right and on a balcony/roof at the end of the street. Eliminate them all. Then follow your teammate.
- You will enter a building through a roll-up gate now. Walk inside and follow your teammate. He will then wait at a door for you. Exit the building through that door and walk through the alley.
- At the end of the alley you will face enemies to your left. They are located in front of you on the ground. After eliminating the ones on the ground, more will appear on a balcony in front of you. Throw a grenade up there.
- Now enter the door beneath the balcony. Be careful, enemies are right behind it.
- Disable the fusebox (located to the right of the next door) with your knife and turn on night vision. Then follow your teammate.
- Since everything is dark now, enemies will not see you right away. Use that advantage to take them out. You will face enemies in the next rooms now.
- Turn your night vision off once you reach the outside of the 2nd floor. Follow your teammate to the roof. Be careful there are enemies on your way.
- After taking out all enemies and exiting the building via the roof, you will join the rest of the team. Follow them. Be careful, enemies will await you around the next corner. Take them out.
- You will face fire from a machine gun now. Do not try to shoot it. Take cover and walk around it, along the path and up the stairs.
- Go left. You will face enemies straight ahead on top of the roof now. Take them out.
- The building will collapse now. Do not worry, it is supposed to happen.
- Follow your mate outside and along the path. You will face enemies at the top of the stairs. Take them out and proceed.
- You enter another building and shortly after exit it with your team. You find yourself outside looking at a big square now. Follow your team and take cover. Enemies are located on the ground in front of you and on the balconies to your right, left and center. Take them all out.
- Then follow your teammates through the gate at the others side of the square. Take cover. Enemies will come out of the door of the building in front of you. Shoot them and enter the building.
- After the short sequence, follow your teammates to the outside and through the alley. You will face enemies on a roof in front of you after walking up a pathway and over a small ramp. Take them out.
- Then walk along the wall to your left, up the stairs, follow the path and take out all enemies. Then follow your teammates.
- You will reach a castle now. Run in and take cover once the rockets hit it.
- Enemies are in front of you on the ground. Ignore the machine gun fire and follow your teammates into an entrance on your left.
- Run along the path and take out the upcoming enemies.
- When you reach the top of the building, take out the enemies in front of you and acquire the sniper rifle (Dragunov SVD) off one of the enemies.
- Walk outside onto the balcony and take out the following enemies with your sniper rifle. Enemies are located in the window in the building to your left as well as behind the trucks on the ground.
- Then take out the enemies on the other side of the building you were shooting at. Again in the window and on the ground in front of it.
- Now, follow your teammate and rejoin the rest of the team. You will enter the building and shortly exit it again. When on the outside follow the path and take out all enemies around the corner.
- Enter the next building and take out the enemies. Then follow your team until you reach another door.
- Now kick in the door. A slow motion sequence follows, use the slow motion to aim for the head of the guy holding the hostage. Take him out. Your team will take care of the other enemies. After that you have completed mission 1.
- The mission starts with you sitting on the passenger seat of a car and driving through a desert-like area. You will shortly have to shoot some enemies that are standing on the side of the road or in other cars. Take out as many as possible.
- After the car stops you have to use the machine gun on top of it to take out the enemies in front of the gate you are facing.
- Then you will find yourself on foot with a couple teammates. Around the wall to your left are a few enemies. First on the ground and then on the roof. Take them all out and use the car wreck as cover. Afterwards, follow your teammates.
- Now take out the next wave of enemies. Then, walk up the stairs and follow your teammates.
- Your character will automatically pick up the binoculars. Now mark a location (hold R1) for air attack. Mark the gate.
- Follow your teammates and take out the guards on the floor ahead of you.
- Then, move up the stairs located at the left end of the current area. Take out the guards on the roof.
- Move towards the other end of the roof and use your sniper rifle to shoot the upcoming enemies. Then, follow your teammates and take out the remaining enemies. Be careful, there is a rocket launcher on the roof. Take him out.
- Move forward in the current area and up the stairs located at the right end.
- Take out the remaining enemies on the roof. Then, use your sniper rifle to eliminate the enemies on the other side of the fence. Afterwards, follow your teammates to the other side.
- Keep following your teammates, go left and take out the enemies behind the cover. Then take cover. There is a sniper straight ahead on top of an airplane wreck. Take him out. Then proceed along the path.
- Once you turn left you will face more enemies. Fight your way through. Finally, there will be machine gun fire. Use your sniper rifle to take it out. It is located to the left of the hanger.
- Then, proceed towards the hanger. You will face a couple more enemies. Now, follow your teammates into the hanger and immediately take cover and take out all enemies. Then, follow your teammates.
- Once outside again, you will face enemies straight ahead on a balcony as well as below it and on the ground to your left. Take them out. Then, follow your teammates into the next hanger.
- Once you enter the hanger you face enemies to your right. Take cover and use your sniper to take out the ones behind the window.
- Then, walk up the stairs and take out the enemies on the other side of the hanger.
- Follow your teammates. Once you get outside, go left and take cover behind the low stone blocks. Use you sniper rifle to take out the enemies on the tower. Then, follow your teammates.
- Walk up the stairs and take cover. You will have to take out more enemies on the tower. Note: There is a Dragunov sniper rifle in the room, leaning against a post.
- Now follow your teammates into the tower. Once you are in, you will be attacked from your left. Take out all enemies and follow your teammates into the next room and onto the next floor.
- Take out the enemies in front of you and to your left. Kick in the next door and take out the enemies behind it. Then, follow your teammates and enjoy the short sequence. Now, follow them up the stairs to the top of the tower.
- You now have to use your binoculars again to mark locations for air attacks. You can choose between bombs and machine gun fire (by pressing triangle). You will be able to see gun fire. Mark a location near it and use a bomb for that.
- Two vehicles will approach from the right. Mark them. Use machine gun fire.
- Now do the same with the following vehicles from the left.
- More vehicles will appear. They will be marked on your display. Take them out via the same method.
- Finally take out the tanks using bombs. After that, you have completed mission 2.
Medal of Honor (2010) - Mission Three: Running with Wolves
- Follow your teammate on the ATV (Accelerate=R2; Break=L2). Turn off your lights (L1) once he stops. Then, keep following him.
- After you get off the ATV, follow your teammate and wait next to him. Now, kill the guard on top of the building at the marked location. Use your sniper rifle.
- Follow your teammate in to the compound. When you face the two guards, take out one. Your teammate will take care of the other one. Then follow him.
- When your teammate climbs over the gate, walk into the building left of you and towards the window. Use your sniper rifle to take down the guard on the tower in front of you and then the one on the building to the right of the tower.
- You will face some more guards on the ground. Take them out. Then exit the building and join the team.
- Get back onto the ATV and follow your teammate (Dusty).
- When you stop, you need to take out guards with your sniper rifle. There are two guards on the ground to your right and two on the tower to your left. Afterwards, proceed on the ATV and follow your teammate once off the ATV.
- You need to find and mark trucks now. Do not kill the guards in front of the first truck. Wait until they move away. Then follow your teammate and kill the guard at the door straight ahead.
- Follow your teammate. Do not kill the next guards, but wait until they are gone. Then, follow your teammate.
- Kill one of the next guards, your teammate will take care of the other one. Proceed along the path to the truck and place a beacon on it. Afterwards, you face two guards. Take them out. Then follow your teammate.
- Wait until the way is clear (do not kill the guards walking by) and proceed to the building on the other side. Then kill the guard in it by using your knife. Plant the beacon on the last truck and get back to your teammate via the same route. Kill the guard in the building on your way.
- Follow your teammate and take out the guards on the way. When you are back on the ATV, follow your teammate. Afterwards, you have completed mission 3.
- Follow your team and take out the enemies. Keep following them and take out the guards at the camp fire.
- Follow the path. You will face quite a few guards now. Take cover and use your sniper rifle to take them out. Then, follow the path and eliminate the rest around the corner.
- Place an explosive on the machine gun and take distance before you blow it up. Then, follow your team.
- Mark the trucks for an air attack and follow your team. You now face more guards along the path. Take them out.
- Enjoy the short sequence. Then keep following your team. When you reach the cave take out the guard lying on the ground around the corner.
- You face more guards behind the cave. Get in a good position and open fire. Take out all guards.
- Follow your team. Then, mark the pointed out locations for air attacks.
- Follow your teammate. When your team calls for help, follow your teammate, take out the approaching guards on your left, then get the rocket launcher on the table and aim for the marked location. Afterwards, that you have completed mission 4.
- Follow your team. Do not worry about the gun fire.
- Shortly after you jump over the tree you will face enemies straight ahead on top of thee cliff as well as on the ground. Take them out.
- Keep following your team along the path and take out all upcoming enemies.
- When you reach the village take cover and take out the approaching enemies. Then follow your team into the village and take out all enemies along the way.
- After a short sequence, you will find yourself under heavy machine gun fire. Take cover. Then fire at the machine gun, allowing your teammates to move forward.
- Follow them and take out the enemies on the ground. Then shoot at the machine gun again. Follow your teammates and repeat the process until your teammates mark the machine gun for an air attack.
- Follow your team and take out the enemies along the path. Enemies are located on the ground as well as on the hills.
- You will reach a hut, which will blow up. After the sequence, take cover and defend your current position against the approaching enemies coming from the hill in front of you.
- When your team runs into the hut next to you, follow them and keep shooting the approaching enemies.
- At some point, a car will crash into the hut. Keep defending your position. Take out the enemies on your right. After awhile, switch over to the left side and take out the enemies there.
- After awhile, a US helicopter will approach and help you out. Then, you have completed mission 5.
- You now find yourself in one of the helicopters that rescued you at the end of the last mission.
- Take out the cars marked on your display. Press R1 for machine gun fire, R2 for rockets and use L1 to zoom.
- Shortly after you have to take out a small enemy camp. Aim for the squares marked on your display and hold L2 to bomb the location. Repeat that for the camp below and to your right.
- You will continue flying and then arrive at village. Take out all enemies. Use rockets to blow up the buildings.
- Then you will fly to different locations. Use L2 to bomb the squares marked on your display. And take out all enemies. Afterwards you have completed mission 6.
- During this mission you take the role of a sniper. Take out the enemies on the mountain ahead of you. Switch to another viewing mode (directional button down) in order to find your enemies. Depending on which mode you use your enemies will either appear as bright shapes or black shapes. Then use L1 to hold you breath before you shoot and take out all enemies.
- After having taken out the first few enemies, you will face more to your left and then to your right. Again, switch the viewing mode to discover them.
- Next, you are being attacked by enemies at your current location. Your character will automatically switch weapons. Take out all approaching enemies, follow your teammate and take out the rest.
- Now, follow your teammate. You will face enemies along the way. Take them out.
- You will reach another sniper position. Switch viewing mode and take out the enemies.
- Then, follow your teammate. You will reach another sniper position. You now have to help out an ambushed unit. Take out all attacking enemies (switch viewing mode if necessary). Afterwards, you have completed mission 7.
- Your goal in this mission is to escape the approaching enemies by letting yourself fall back bit by bit.
- Shoot the approaching enemies and let yourself fall back with your team. In other words, shoot a few enemies, run backwards towards your team, take cover, shoot some more enemies, move backwards again.
- Continue falling back until you reach a hut, which will get blown up by a helicopter. Follow your team through the back door, run along the path and take cover. Then shoot the approaching enemies and move backwards towards the building. Again, take cover and shoot the enemies.
- After the short sequence, follow your team and take out the enemies on your way. Always, stay close to your team.
- Finally, you need to get into a helicopter and use its machine gun to shoot as many enemies as possible. Afterwards, you have completed mission 8.
- When you take control of your character, walk ahead and veer right. Your only weapon will be your knife for now. You will see a light behind a short tunnel. Crawl through it and kill the enemy behind it with your knife. You now acquire a handgun.
- Follow the path and take out the two enemies at the end of it. Then continue walking right along the cliff.
- On the other side, walk along the path and then up the path to your left. Wait until the patrol is passed you then climb down and keep following the path.
- After a short sequence you will reunite with your teammate and acquire a rifle. Follow him.
- You will now face more enemies at a camp fire. Do not shoot them right away. Sneak along the path to your right and take out the enemy at the end using your knife. Then take out one enemy after the other with your rifle. Make sure to aim for the head and wait until they are kind of isolated from the others. After you’ve killed them all, follow your teammate.
- Stay close to your teammate and do not shoot the enemies when you are under the bridge. They cannot see you. Keep following your teammate.
- Shortly after you part ways, you need to take out one of two enemies. Your teammate will take care of the other one. Continue along the path and rejoin your teammate.
- You now face three enemies. Take them all out and follow your teammate.
- You will part ways again and then face a lot of enemies. After the short sequence, run to your right, up the hill and onto the platform the enemies are shooting from. Take them out.
- Afterwards, you will face enemies from the other side. Run into the cave, take cover and shoot them all. There is a sniper rifle and machine gun located at the entrance of the cave. Choose one of them or keep going with your current rifle.
- After you’ve eliminated all enemies, follow your teammate. You will reach a hut. Shortly after you enter the hut, enemies are trying to enter and shoot the hut. You will get injured and then while your partner is dragging you out, you have to shoot approaching enemies in slow motion. Another sequence will follow. Afterwards, you have completed mission 9.
- Your mission is to rescue the two captured soldiers.
- Take out all approaching enemies with the rail gun.
- Then, follow your team out of the helicopter. Take cover and shoot the enemies.
- Follow your team and mark the machine gun for an air attack.
- Keep following your team. You will face some more enemies along the way ahead of you and another machine gun. Get closer to it and mark it for an air attack.
- Now, you enter a bunker. Take out the enemies in the first room behind the boxes. Follow the path and take out the enemies along the way.
- You will reach another room. Take cover and take out the enemies. Then, proceed.
- Once outside, follow the team. You will face enemies in a small camp take them all out and proceed.
- Stay close to your team and take out the enemies behind the camp. The proceed along the path to your right and take cover behind the boxes. Take out the enemies ahead of you and proceed to the following boxes when you have the chance.
- Get close to your team and shoot the enemies on the hill. Run up the hill and take cover behind the boxes. Shoot the approaching enemies.
- Move forward when you have the chance and take out the rest of them.
- Follow your team. Take out the enemies ahead of you and proceed to your left. Run all the way up and take cover. Then proceed along the path to your right and shoot all enemies.
- After the air attack follow your team into the bunker and take out the enemy. Now enjoy the ending sequence. Congratulations, you have completed Medal of Honor!
